18 Elite Coach

Matt attended Bakersfield High School before he was recruited to CSUB to play soccer for the Roadrunners where he currently holds two records as a Goalie; 13 shut outs in a season & 7 consecutive shut outs.  He played soccer at 
CSUB for 2 years and then transferred to Grossmont Junior College to play volleyball.  Matt started his first year at Grossmont as a Middle Blocker and made 1^st Team All Conference as he led his team to a first place finish in the Conference and a third place finish in State playoffs.  Matt’s second year with Grossmont put him in a Libero position where he earned 2^nd Team All Conference Honors (First Libero to ever get awarded All Conference Honors at the JC level) and helped lead his team to another first place finish in Conference and third in State playoffs. In his two years at Grossmont he led his teams to a 30-3 finish and currently holds the record in number of digs in a season and only played Libero for half the season.  

Matt’s coaching experience started at La Costa Canyon High School in San Diego where he coached his JV team to a first place finish in Conference with a 22-3 record.  He then went on to Coach 2 years at University of San Diego High School and coached those JV teams to two first place finishes in Conference and a combined record of 39-9.  His Club Coaching experience consists of coaching one year at Shorebreak VBC in San Diego, one year at Hard Rock VBC in San Diego, one year at Seaside Boys VBC in San Diego, and entering his 5^th season with Kern River Volleyball Club.  Matt has also coached at the Jr. College level and College level. He was the Assistant for Grossmont Jr. College for 
one year, the Assistant for one year at Palomar Jr. College, and the Assistant for CSUB for three years. 

Matt is currently the Owner of Premier Sports Training which is a business that specializes in training volleyball, 
baseball, basketball and football.  PST also specializes in strength and conditioning for each sport and PST will be the official trainers for Kern River Volleyball Club in the 2008 season.  Matt will be the 18 Elite Coach for KRVC this 
2008 season!!
